We All Have A LATTE Do!

We All Have A LATTE Do!
Rich boost. Smooth. Warm. Comforter.

2014 was an eventful year. How could I meet these deadlines? The process requires ten signatures! How would I retrieve and send documents? They are not even in America!

Needless to say, it all got down! The process of staying FIT (Finesse in Trials) began with the Passion Planner, a Latte and none other than a row of Do-si-do cookies.

Set the timer! I had to pour out my heart, my goals, all in five minutes. Each page to follow was filled with daily tasks to bring my 2014 goals in fruition.

The thing is life is not all about your personal goals. For me there is GOD, family and community. The challenge is BALANCE. It comes down to four things.

1. Conviction (Priorities)

What opportunities will develop you, strengthen your relationships, and create more doors to be opened? Be responsible. You cannot be everywhere and participate in everything. Therefore, be selective.

You have to be intentional about responding to your convictions and not an outside voice.

Yes – There would be a few more hundreds in my savings account each month toward a new home, a business venture or a trip but my number one financial priority is tithing. For me, I believe that all of my needs will be provided by GOD (Philippians 4:19), therefore I give Him the initial portion of what I have been blessed with.

Even without spiritual conviction, there is always something that is the foundation of your life. What guides you? Do not allow others to prioritize your time, finances or worthiness. When you leave it to others you give them permission to decide and create who you are and what you accomplish.

2. Say NO

And it is ok! I am confident that you hear NO often. Many people do not have a problem saying no just before making a request of you. It is amazing to be dependable, helpful and loving. No can be helpful and loving as well. Sometimes game changers can be birthed from a no. A lesson can be more valuable by experiencing the rigor to make progress and not the result of you always coming to save the day.

Again, do not allow other to prioritize your time, finances or worthiness.

3. Growth

As we mature and responsibilities change, we adjust. How will you know what is working? For minor and major, personal and professional goals, I encourage us all to be specific and ensure that the journey to success is measurable.

Let’s say you would like to release $4,000 in debt. Ask yourself, how much in surplus do I have after monthly debt and expenses? Set a goal around your pay schedule. You can then create a method of tracking. Some would prefer an excel spread sheet while others may create a thermometer to track progress for visual encouragement. Whether the goal is to restore a relationship to building a shed there must be check points to determine if the method used is leading toward attainment.

4. Move from an interest to commitment

When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.  – Eric Thomas
